Fat’h Ali Shah (r. 1797-1834) and I have something in common: we both like having our pictures taken.
Apparently the early Qajar king had two favorite guys as his painters: Mirza Baba and Mehr Ali. Check out some of his portraits here—some are watercolor, some are oil, but all are Fat’h Ali and his glorious ego.
